The Tamale High Court has sentenced Salifu Nurudeen, a L100 student of the University of Development Studies(UDS) to death over his involvement in the murder of Mohammed Zakiu Wumpini.
According to reports, the convict was arrested after investigations into the tragic murder of the L200 pharmacy student led to the discovery of the deceased person’s phone in his room.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the convict attacked master Mohammed Zakiu, after discovering that his girlfriend who had ended things with him was in a new affair with the deceased person.
Further findings revealed that he had sent breakup messages from the deceased person’s phone to the lady in question, before being tracked down.
He pleaded not guilty to the murder of Mr. Mohammed Zakiu, despite admitting to sending the messages and was subsequently sentenced to death.
