GURU files injunction case against University of Ghana SRC after his disqualification.

Maradona Adjei, a hiplife icon in Ghana, popularly known as GURU NKZ, now a student of the University of Ghana has filed a lawsuit against the University of Ghana Students Representative Council (SRC) Electoral Commission, following his disqualification from the presidential race.

The disqualification was based on the fact that, GURU NKZ has a non - resident status, a violation of Article 30, which mandates that a candidates must be campus resident and be eligible to contest in a Junior Common Room (JCR) position in their hall.

During their vetting, GURU NKZ and his running mate, Jeffrey Adu Yeboah, confirmed that they were not residents of any hall, which lead to their disqualification.

In response, GURU NKZ's camp has lodged a petition with the Electoral Commission and office of the Dean of Student Affairs, seeking a review of the decision.

Additionally, an interim injunction has been submitted to Judicial Board, requesting a temporal halt to the electoral process until a proper hearing and ruling has been made.

"We shall ensure that there's no discrimination against any student, whether resident or non - resident, able or with special needs, first degree or PFD, Local or International, Korle - Bu, City Campus, or Distance Education, including all Regional Learning Centres across the lenghth and breath of the country." He stated.

The hiplife artist is hopeful of a positive hearing from the Judical Board and  positive outcome.
