China launches 10G broadband Network.

China launches world's first 10G broadband network, delivering 9,834 Mbps download and 1,008 Mbps upload speeds.

China launched the world's first 10G broadband network in Sunan County, Hebei Province, on April 20, 2025, achieving download speeds of 9,834 Mbps and upload speeds of 1,008 Mbps, using 50G PON technology developed by Huawei and China Unicom.

This network enables downloading a 20GB 4K movie in under 20 seconds, compared to 7-10 minutes on a 1Gbps connection, surpassing top commercial broadband speeds in countries like the UAE and Qatar.

The 10G broadband is expected to advance sectors like telemedicine, remote education, and smart agriculture by supporting high-bandwidth applications such as 8K streaming and cloud computing with latency as low as 3 milliseconds.
