President John Dramani Mahama has removed Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo from office in accordance with Article 146(9) of Ghana's 1992 Constitution.
This decision followed the recommendation of a committee established under Article 146(6) to investigate a petition submitted by, Mr. Daniel Ofori.
The committee found evidence of stated misbehavior as outlined in Article 146(1) and consequently recommended her removal from office.
