A Student of Asuoso Community Senior High School in Nkwaakwaa in the Ashanti Region of Ghana stabbed his teacher in the left eye after an altercation.
For disciplinary actions and sanctions to be meted out to the student for his gross insubordination, teacher associations are calling for the immediate prosecution of the student, who allegedly stabbed a teacher in the eye, at the Asuoso Senior High School.
The incident which has left the teacher blind in one eye, allegedly ensued after the student was found loitering outside, during class hours.
GNAT’s Ashanti chapter demands justice for 26-year-old teacher Ishmael Famous, who lost his sight after allegedly being stabbed by a student at Asuoso SHS in Offinso North. The incident occurred on November 18, 2024, following an altercation when the teacher disciplined the 20-year-old student, Alex Annor.
GNAT Ashanti Chairman, Prosper Tachie, revealed that the student was granted bail, but threats from the community forced staff to suspend teaching.
